I used to have really bad acne and the only thing that worked was Accutane. My acne has been pretty much gone for 3 years straight. You should also used philosophy products to clean your face. The Purity face wash is AWESOME.. and so are all their other products too. (Hint: If you get them through QVC you can get better deals than if you buy directly through philosophy)

I would definitely go see a dermatologist and ask about Tazorac. You really would need insurance for this (approximately $150 dollars for the smallest tube without insurance). For the first two weeks, you skin will peel and you will need excess lotion (I prefer Philosophy facial lotion). I used to have TERRIBLE acne, especially those deep hard cystic ones. Tazorac saved my life and you only need to use a pea size amount for the entire face.
Besides that, I recommend a regime of Philosophy skin care. The face wash is so gentle and softens the appearance of pores.

Umm…ProActiv?

Differin Gel works well. Proactiv works well too but you have to use it consistently. Also I would suggest changing my eating habits, drinking lots of water, getting a colon cleanse or an enema to flush your system, getting lots of rest and cleansing your skin regularly. Acne is not something you can cure but it is something you can tame with the right techniques.

My son is under the care of a dermatologist for his acne. He takes a mild broad spectrum antibiotic, once a day to kill any harmful bacteria in his system. He uses Differin (a topical preparation) at night, and a special cleanser. This has almost completely cleared up his acne in 5 months, but his case was pretty bad. The three medications were about 100 dollars a month. Some doctors still use Retin A, but there are more downsides to that.
If your acne is not too bad, you can manage break outs with a little benzoyl peroxide (like Clearasil) at night. If you do not want to visit a doctor, you might want to try Pro Active. Remember, greasy foods and chocolate do NOT cause acne, and just because you have acne doesn’t mean you arent clean or attractive…Good Luck!

OXY 10. I used to use it years ago but I’m not sure you can get it anymore, you could buy it at any store pretty much. It was awesome! In one day it was gone!

I use the Clear Skin Regimen at http://www.acne.org. It’s a non-profit (so it’s free), the guy who created used to suffer from pimples himself. The system works wonders on my face, and its helped countless other people. The best part is that you don’t have to order or buy any expensive treatments, everything you need for the Regimen can be found at your local drugstore. Find out more at the website.
In general, for clear skin it helps if you: don’t touch/pick at your skin, drink lots of water, wash your hair frequently, change your pillowcases, exercise, wear little make-up (or if needed, hypo-allergenic makeup), and minimize stress.
Another important tip is to look up online consumer reviews of acne products before you buy them, using sites like epinions.com or drugstore.com. A great website I use to get cosmetic reviews is makeupalley.com (A mostly women’s site). Researching the effectiveness of products helped me a lot in my battle against blemishes. Hope this helps!http://www.acne.org

Differin Gel or Creme, they work great and can really clear up your skin,I have tried it so try it.And it’s easy to try or you can try some pills, both from your doctor of course. And remember that it takes time and patience.

Accutane. I took it about seven years ago for my acne and it really helped. It has a pretty bad rep because it causes severe depression in some of it’s patients and if you’re a woman you have to be on birth control when taking it because it can cause birth defects in babies

Accutane. I took it 20 years ago but I think they pulled it from the market because it caused birth defects.

I have a different method instead of pills for acne…
I would reccomend (highly) Clinique Moisturizures. I do it daily and all my whiteheads, pimples and bacteria disappear from my face.
If that does not work, try asking a pharamist what a top brand for acne prescriptions are.
Good Luck!
